And common sense tells us that we are made of mostly water and that we should replenish our essence. Though there is no hard-and-fast rule; the amount of water you should drink depends on your circumstances, your body, and other individual factors and characteristics. Even if you know how much water you need to drink each day, that amount would probably change if you were in a drier climate, or if you were working and sweating more, or if your diet changed or became more "toxic" or "polluted."

Common sense tells us we need water; but what do we "need" it for? The fact is that you are mostly water; and you need water to function properly. If you do not replace the water you use, you will become toxic and dehydrated; you will not get that fabulously fit body you're after if you are chronically dehydrated and your body isn't functioning as it should. You don't simply need water to quench your thirst; thirst is simply a signal letting you know that your body needs more water in order to keep functioning properly.

The thought that thirst can be quenched with any beverage has led to a nation that is mostly overweight (66% of Americans are overweight); and soft drinks, beer, kool-aid, and milkshakes - though delightful - are just a few of the tools we've used to create this reality. If nothing else, drinking water will help you avoid the hazards of dehydration, and the harmful effects of drinking so many chemicals, sugars, and artificial colors; but there is much more to the water story. Water helps you maintain a healthy functioning body; and it does many things that support and sustain healthy, natural weight loss.

Here are seven of the simpler ways water can help you lose weight:

1. Water helps you lose weight by making you feel full. We all stop eating when we're full - even if someone offers us one of our favorite foods. If your stomach is full, you don't eat; and, if your stomach is full of something that has no calories, then you aren't gaining weight. Unless you're dead, you are losing weight if you aren't gaining it. Of course, there are some people who do keep eating well past the point where they feel full; if you have clinical disorders, water can still help you in all of these ways, but consider trying one of the new Energy Psychology techniques (like EFT and Z-Point, for example) to possibly eliminate your disorder - quickly, safely, effectively, inexpensively, and completely.

2. Water helps curb food cravings. Most people can't tell the difference between their "thirst-signals," and their "hunger-signals;" so, most people eat when they are actually thirsty. Unneeded calories adds unwanted weight; changing the way you address your cravings changes the amount of calories you put into your body. Eating when you are actually thirsty will help you gain weight; so, it naturally follows that, if you drank water when you were thirsty - instead of eating a snack - your body isn't receiving something it can store or burn, so it has to use fuel it already has onboard.

3. Water quenches your thirst. Besides the fact that people eat when they are thirsty, and water turns-off that impulse; people also drink sodas, and other fattening beverages when they are thirsty. If you are drinking enough water, it will be difficult to continue guzzling those sugar-and-chemical-laden beverages. And, if you stop drinking sugar, you will probably lose some weight.

4. Water flushes toxins from your system. This is a simple matter of common sense; if you don't pee, stuff stays inside you. If you don't drink water, you don't pee. Not all scientists and doctors say the same thing; so you really need to follow your own intuition on all things medical. Water is a fluid; but your body isn't simply made of "mostly fluid." Your body is made of mostly water - Hydrogen and Oxygen. You are an electric entity; you need Hydrogen and Oxygen - not simply random liquids. People who don't drink enough water often think they are supposed to feel sluggish, and that their urine is supposed to have that color and odor... You're not, and it's not; those are actually signs of dehydration you just aren't reading properly.

5. Water increases metabolism. There is a significant thermogenic effect from drinking at least 500ml of water. With no caloric value to "pay for" the energy created as a direct result of drinking water, the body must use it's own fuel stores to heat and process the water you consume.

6. Water Hydrates you. Being hydrated improves digestive function, and every part of your overall health picture. Being dehydrated can put your body in the stress response - which causes your body to produce stress hormones such as cortisol (the hormone responsible for helping your body convert and store undigested food as fat). Hydrated cells are healthy cells; a healthy body is made of healthy cells.

7. Water can be used as a Placebo. Drinking water for any of the reasons listed above could be effective at helping you lose weight for no other reason than you (1.) Think or Believe that drinking water could produce a certain effect; and, (2.) You actually drink water as directed for the prescribed purpose. In other words, placebo studies have shown that people who are given a "remedy" with no known curative properties often benefit simply because they believe they should. So, if you drink water because you believe it has weight-loss benefits, you have increased your chances of experiencing the benefit you seek. Sterile water is often used as a placebo in medical trials; and water has actually cured "incurable" and potentially fatal conditions when used as a remedy in a clinical or therapeutic setting. Placebos show us that it really is "the thought that counts."

No matter what your reasons for drinking water, you need to drink it; this is simply a matter of common-sense if you want to maintain a healthy body and live a healthy, happy life. But, if you seriously consider water as a weight-loss tool, implement, or technique for losing weight, then you are going to find at least the same results you'd achieve with any other weight-loss plan - without harmful side effects. But, most likely, you'll notice profound changes in your health, life, and body within a few days of simply drinking an adequate amount of water for your body and your level of activity. You don't have to do anything crazy or extreme; just drink enough water to keep yourself properly hydrated and see what happens.

Everybody assumes that you must do endless hours of cardio workouts to get ripped six pack abs. But this is simply not true. In fact, if you quit wasting so much time with boring slow cardio routines and change your workouts much more strategically, you will get those six pack abs much faster than you thought was possible!

Craig: C-J, let's start with a bit of background on yourself and what your goals were when you discovered interval-training and strength training.

C-J:
Ok, I'm a female in my middle 30's and your typical office professional who spends many long hours in front of the computer.

With regards to fitness and nutrition, I grew up realizing the importance of being active and staying healthy. So while I've stayed active for most of my life, I recently realized that I still had a lot to learn about both training and nutrition.

When I first discovered the Turbulence-Training Workouts, I was looking for an improvement in body composition. I had been introduced to weight training a year or so earlier and had made some really good progress, but had gone past that "new stimulus" effect, and really needed something different to kick my results up again and break the plateau.

Craig: How were you doing before?

C-J:
Well, during grad school and working full-time I let my fitness slip for the days and evenings tied to a computer, and the joys of eating at restaurants once or twice a day. I had gained about twenty pounds and was at my heaviest weight ever at about 160 pounds. Once I finished night school, I added exercise and nutrition back to my priority list and lost those twenty pounds, mostly from running five days a week.

The 2nd stage started when I discovered weight training. I was at about 142 pounds at the time and about 28% body fat. After about six months I lost another 8-10 pounds and 7% body fat.

So when I started the Turbulence-Training program, I had already made decent progress as I was down to about 133 pounds and 21-22% bodyfat.

Craig: What were your workouts like before Turbulence Training? Why did they not work as well? How have you since improved upon those workouts?

C-J:
Before Turbulence Training, I was a "same-pace" cardio fanatic, and I ran 3-5 miles three times a week and strength trained using a four day body part split routine. This plan worked ok for about six months or so, but then I just stalled out and the plateau set in. I'm not exactly sure what the culprit was, but I just knew that I needed a different type of workout program to try.

So when I first started strength training and interval workouts I was skeptical that such a short workout only three times per week would be good enough. I soon realized that strength training and intervals kept the intensity levels higher during EVERY workout, so the 3 days and 2 super sets were actually much more efficient than my four day body part split and three days of running. I also got on an interval training program and reduced my slower "same pace" cardio runs to about one day a week.

Craig: How have the interval workouts and strength training helped you improve your shape? What benefits and results have you achieved? What are your improvements compared to your before stats?

C-J:
I am definitely stronger, leaner, and faster than before.

Strength wise, I can finally do chin-ups and pull-ups, something I've always wanted to be able to achieve. I have also improved my 5k time by two minutes. I also finally have the muscle tone and athletic body shape that I have always wanted.

When compared to my before stats, I have had to throw the scales out the window and use the mirror and compliments I've received as my guide since I have gained a few pounds of lean (but sexy) muscle so the scale weight hasn't changed much even though my body composition has improved. Also, my clothes have gotten looser and smaller and I'm also making fairly significant strength and speed gains. I can also actually see a visible six pack of abs now, which has always eluded me!

Craig: How do you feel in terms of energy and strength?

C-J:
My strength gains are most exciting to me, since I typically have high energy/endurance. I particularly like how my strength gains have transferred to improved running and biking.

The amount I can lift in the gym just sort of evolves, but when I can climb hills on my bike that I used to be forced to walk, and finish 5k runs in times that were once way out of my reach, it feels pretty damn good!

Craig: What features do you like about TT-style strength and intervals?

C-J:
It is fun, time efficient, and intense. Plus it works like crazy! When I am in the gym, I know that I am making the most efficient use of my time.

Craig: Did you change your eating plan with the guidelines?

C-J:
Not a whole lot, but some. I was on a pretty good eating plan when I started TT strength and intervals, but I am constantly learning about making better food choices and looking to change things slightly here and there. Incorporating a post-workout recovery shake and getting as much variety as possible have been the biggest changes in my nutrition habits since I started the program.

Craig: What would you say to others that ask you about your workouts? Do you get a lot of comments from people?

C-J:
When people ask me about my workouts, I try to hold back some excitement so I don't come off as a wild fanatic and overwhelm them.

I have had quite a few comments from others in my gym, either noticing how hard and smart that I am working out, or complimenting me on my progress. One woman even pointed me out and said "I want thighs like that!" to her friend. How cool is that!

It is always enjoyable to see friends or family or even co-workers that I haven't seen in a while because they always remind me of the great progress I have made. It's also exciting that I can show off my flat stomach now too with the sexy little six pack!

The best compliment I get now is in the form of imitation. Others want to know exactly what I do and ask me for tips to help them. They see that it works, want to know how I have done it, so they can try to apply it to themselves.

A few months ago I saw the scale move back up...again. I decided that enough was enough. I will tell you that the biggest problem is that people lose weight so quickly that their metabolism doesn't have time to adjust, therefore, as soon as you miss a few days of your routine that weight comes right back. For me, these feelings and thoughts were just a way of motivating me to figure out a way to beat the odds.

I now want to quickly outline 5 things you can start doing to help you lose weight and keep it off. Also, I'd like to tell you that if you're serious about losing weight, improving your health, and enhancing your physical appearance, all it takes is dedication to your goals. Ok, here is the list:

1. Start drinking water every day! I know it's gross, and I know it doesn't seem to fill you up. But the fact of the matter is that drinking at least 64 oz. of water a day will increase your metabolism. As your metabolism increases your body will start becoming a fat burning furnace. Also, drinking at least 64 oz. of water a day will start flushing out harmful toxins that make their way into your system everyday. This will greatly improve your day to day health and energy levels.

2. Start eating 6 meals a day of smaller portions. Monday through Saturday allow yourself to eat 6 meals of healthy food of 300-400 calories each meal. Then, on Sunday at in a "snack" meal to reward yourself.

3. Start exercising at 3 days a week for 45 minutes at a time. It doesn't matter if you run, walk, swim, lift weights, stretch, etc. Anything will work. This is another way of increasing your metabolism.

4. Start taking a daily multivitamin. Go to your local drugstore, Wal-mart, whatever, and pick up a multivitamin supplement. They are inexpensive, and highly effective in increasing your body's ability to burn fat.

5. Start trying to get at around 7 1/2 hours of sleep per night. This might mean that you have to work a little harder to get things done in your day. But the metabolic benefits of a good night's sleep are unbelievable.

It is only natural to want to look good. Our society places a lot of emphasis on beauty, and scientific studies show that we naturally react positively toward attractive people. Nothing gets attention quicker than a hot body, so if you're feeling unappreciated it makes sense to give yourself a physical makeover.

Unfortunately, while makeup and clothes are a quick fix, reshaping your body is a long and demanding process.

Weekend diets. These diets claim that using their product can help you to shed several pounds in just a few days. The truth is that you are not losing fat but water. Our bodies naturally retain a certain amount of water, and the active ingredients in these diet products flush that water out of our body, showing an immediate but temporary weight loss.

Slimming soaps. Similar products include lotions and creams. Supposedly these cosmetics contain ancient ingredients that emulsify the fat in your body through the skin. While these ingredients won't hurt you and may at least improve the health of your skin, there is no scientific proof that they stimulate weight loss in any way.

Magnets. These are perhaps the most ridiculous rapid weight loss products on the market. By wearing "magnetized" jewelry like earrings, a pendant, or a bracelet, you are supposed to create equilibrium in your body, causing your metabolism to rise and your hunger to abate. Some companies even claim that their magnets reduce other aches and pains. There are no scientific studies to support these claims.

The bottom line is that there is no such thing as rapid weight loss. With dedication and perseverance you may lose anywhere from one to three pounds a week, but don't expect to drop a pant size every time you work out.

Lose Weight Very Fast On This Fantastic Diet

Well, I am absolutely amazed. A very good friend of mine was recommended to a diet product which sounded remarkable.
