What Cows Know About Weight Loss That We Have Forgotten

I want to talk to you about cows and what they can teach us about weight loss, or more specifically, fat loss. While it may not be obvious, we can learn a very important lesson from cows.

Not so many years ago, cattle were herded across the central plains. North in the summer and south in the winter, following the good weather. While moving several thousand head of cattle on horseback, it was impossible to bring food for the animals, so the route taken had to include grasslands or prairies where the cattle could graze.

With the advent of cattle ranches and barbed wire, it became increasingly more difficult to run cattle across the open range. Instead of moving the cattle to the food, ranchers began to bring the food to the cattle. With a change in diet came a change in the meat and dairy products as well.

You know the old saying "you are what you eat"... well, the same is true for cattle. Cows that consume a diet of fresh grasses instead of dry cattle "feed" end up consuming a higher concentration of many nutrients as well. One in particular that I'd like to discuss with you is a fatty acid called conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA.

Throughout time, people who ate beef and drank milk from cows that were "range fed" ended up consuming a healthy amount of CLA. Since then, the amount of CLA that cattle consume has decreased dramatically, and so they are passing less along to those of us further down the food-chain.

So, what does that mean for us? Well, once upon a time, people were able to make meat and dairy a part of a healthy diet, and that beef and milk actually helped them to stay lean.

The actual way in which CLA keeps animals (like us) lean is still somewhat of a mystery, but through observation, scientists are able to see that it works... and it works very well. A double blind study of obese humans in Norway showed that after 12 weeks, the group that took a little over 3 grams of CLA per day had a statistically significant decrease in body fat mass (BFM) and a statistically significant increase in lean body mass (LBM). These results were acheived without a significant lifestyle change.

Now I'm not going to suggest that anyone tries to lose weight without making significant lifestyle changes. Changes should include (but not be limited to) a decrease in calories per day and an increase in exercise per week. If people can get significant results without making a lifestyle change, what can they do when the two are working together?

I've been hearing about CLA for years now from friends who have lost pounds, fat and inches, and I've begun to take it myself as well, finally. I'm walking thirty minutes a day, five days per week, reducing my caloric intake, and taking CLA three times per day. I'm looking forward to updating you on my progress, and I hope you'll join me as well.

Before you decide, let's look at what we know about CLA and its effects. Studies show that CLA reduces body fat and weight in four ways:

* By decreasing the amount of fat that is stored after eating
* By increasing the rate of fat breakdown in fat cells
* By increasing the rate of fat metabolism
* By decreasing the number of fat cells

In addition to decreasing fat, CLA also helps to increase lean muscle mass. This helps in two ways, first of all, muscle looks better and more natural than fat, and secondly lean muscle burns calories. It's a synergistic effect that compounds as you lose more fat and increase muscle.

Give CLA a try, you've got nothing to lose but fat!

Fast Weight Loss Diets - 3 to Choose From

Fast weight loss diets are not for the faint of heart. They're not based on balanced eating plans. You shouldn't exert yourself when you're on one because they can put stress on your body. And you should never stay one for more than a week. Most important of all though, BEFORE you launch one of the diets promising fast weight loss, visit your doctor and get medical advice. Here are three of the most popular fast weight loss diets:

The Three Day Diet is the simplest of the three diets. It consists of an exact menu for three days. Each breakfast is one small amount of protein, one starch, and one fruit. On one day you'll have an egg, 1/2 of a banana, a piece of toast, and black coffee.

Lunch is even less. It's a small amount of protein and a starch. For one lunch you're recommended to have 1/2 cup tuna and a piece of toast along with your black coffee. Dinner is a little different. You will have a larger serving of protein, 2 servings of vegetables, a fruit, and a cup of regular vanilla ice cream. I personally think it's also one of the strangest diets.

However, there are more of these diets that also have their quirks. One is the Chicken Soup Diet. This is based on a complex recipe for chicken soup. You get some choices of different breakfasts, and then you eat as much soup as you want the rest of the day. One breakfast for the Chicken Soup Diet might be Total cereal, nonfat milk, and juice. A different one would be yogurt, fruit, and wheat germ. When it comes to diets for fast weight loss, with the exception of breakfast this one has zero variety and is boring.

The Grapefruit Diet is one of the most intricate of the 3 fast weight loss diets. There's a lot to remember, and it's all considered important. For instance, there's a certain amount of grapefruit or other specified juice to eat with each meal. You're warned not to eat more or less than what's suggested. Otherwise, it's said the diet will not work.

Also, you're not allowed to take anything away from the diet. If you don't want to eat two slices of bacon with your breakfast - too bad. They claim you won't burn fat if you don't adhere precisely to the diet, including eating the bacon. Hmmm.

A diet like this is hard to understand.

You're also advised to drink 8 eight-ounce glasses of water every day, but only 1 cup of coffee at a meal. Butter can be used as a condiment, or to fry foods. You're only allowed to eat at meal time; no snacking except the beverage at bedtime. You're given two lists: one of foods you can eat and one of foods you cannot eat. Yet, on this "accelerated" weight loss diet you're encouraged to eat until you're full at any meal. Again I say...hmmm.

You're warned not to eat certain foods at the same time they claim the more you eat (of the "allowed" foods), the more you fat you burn. Breakfast on this diet is grapefruit, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon slices. That's the basic guideline however; they also indicate you can eat as much eggs and bacon as you wish. Is this also confusing to you?

Lunch is grapefruit, salad, and meat. Dinner is grapefruit, meat, and a salad or vegetable. You get a bedtime snack of tomato juice or nonfat milk. Yippee! Let's face it - you'll be hungry regardless which of the diets you try. They're extremely restrictive with very, very little food variety. Speaking for myself, that usually means I'll not only be miserable but my chances of sticking to it - even for a short time - are pretty slim. (Pun intended)

And doing fast weight loss diets like this can get complicated. If you do participate in one, please be careful. They may not be safe. And definitely consult with your doctor.

Weight Loss - How To Motivate Yourself

Many people after starting their weight loss program failed to motivate themselves and give up. I'll tell you now how to motivate yourself and at the end of this article, I'll tell you how to get quality information regarding weight loss and fitness straight to your inbox.

A. Relax and Don't Stress:

There is no use in stressing yourself and starving inorder to lose fat or weight. By stressing and starving you are hurting yourself. If you give up, then you have to start over again.

B. Good Sleep

Getting a good nights sleep will make you feel more energized and awake the next day. If you sleep well the night before, you are more likely to be able to get up and go work out. Sufficient sleep can give you the energy to work out harder and for longer periods of time, further fueling your weight loss efforts.

C. Throw out the scale:

Muscles weighs more than the fat and if your muscle mass increases as the result of your workouts, your weight will also increase. So, you may still lose fat and at same time your weight may remain same.

D. Rewarding yourself:

Set yourself small goals throughout your weight loss and also reward yourself if you've achieved your goal. For example, 6 pounds can be a new body lotion, 15 pounds can be a new dress. Make the rewards whatever you want but try to stay away from food rewards as this is not helpful to your weight loss.

D. Changes

New Changes may be a good idea to keep you going. Examine your current diet and exercise program. You may consider making some new changes. For example, you can do aerobics instead of treadmill or an elliptical trainer. Also remember, if you change something keep it up for atleast 30 days before doing another change.

And One More Thing http://www.articleyes.com/fitness/fitness-club/ If you have been overweight or out of shape for years, I have a program specially for you. This new program does not involve situps, Ab rollers, infomercial abdominal machines, endless repetitions of floor crunches, starvation diets and fat burning pills.

Starting a Weight Loss Workout Program

In the world today, millions of people are either overweight or obese. Medical experts believe that this number is growing at an epidemic rate. One of the biggest contributing factors is the alarming lack of exercise for most people. This is especially true for children. They often spend most of their free time in front of the TV or playing the latest computer game rather than playing more active games outside.

One way to combat the effects of obesity is to develop a weight loss workout program. Depending on the degree of obesity, this can be difficult for the person suffering from the weight problem.

When you think of a weight loss workout program, what comes to mind? For most people, the image is a strenuous workout on huge machines, huffing and puffing, struggling to catch a breath, with your clothes soaked with sweat, and a lot of other people around to watch them. They often feel like they will be laughed at, and in turn, choose to do nothing. This puts their health and possibly their lives at risk.

The truth is, that a weight loss workout program can include many different types of workouts. It can be as simple as starting out taking walks around the block and increasing the distance every month. Buying a treadmill may give you the incentive to start a weight loss workout program in the privacy of your own home. You can gradually work up to a fitness center when they feel comfortable doing so. A weight loss workout program can be as aggressive as you choose.

For those who want to join a fitness center, and have no idea what type of workout program is right for them, there are personal trainers who can assist you in forming a weight loss workout program that is perfect for you.

Before you start, however, it is important that you remember to consult your physician first. Before starting any type of weight loss workout program you need to rule out any underlying problems. Once you get started, you will be surprised at how easy it is to add your new routine as a daily habit. The key is to start slowly, then gradually build up your time as it becomes easier.

A weight loss exercise plan does not have to mean deprivation or back-breaking exercise routines. To discover simple strategies for lasting weight loss and a free book of delicious recipes, be sure to check out my Painless Weight Loss blog at: http://www.painless-weight-loss.com/

Hoodia Gordonii Benefits Beyond Weight Loss

Hoodia belongs to a category of plants called succulents. Hoodia plants resemble a cactus, and has the consistency of a cucumber. The Kalahari Bushmen of Southern Africa don't eat Hoodia for the taste, but for releasing energy and curbing hunger. For many years the plant has been a dietary mainstay for hunters on long trips. It helps them ward off hunger, thirst and pain while they are hunting and foraging for food.

The weight-loss industry has been abuzz lately with the hoopla over the wonder slimming plant Hoodia Gordonii. Currently, there are around a dozen types of hoodia, and only one however, hoodia gordonii, contains the active ingredient called p57, which is believed to function in the suppression of appetite. There have been no randomized controlled studies of the effects of hoodia gordonii on humans, only anecdotal evidence, mostly after local Bushmen in Southern Africa ate parts of the plant and lost the desire to eat, or had a feeling of fullness.

A clinical trial conducted by Hoodia manufacture Phytopharm demonstrated that repeat dose administration of large doses of Hoodia extract caused a statistically significant decrease in daily calorie intake. By day 15 the calorie intake had decreased by approximately 1000 kcal per day.

At present, the media has come up with a flurry of reports about the miraculous wonder of Hoodia gordonii as simple, nutritional support for weight control. Hoodia gordonii has been featured on the internet, and in all print and television media and radio. It is reported as beneficial weight control when used as a dietary supplement or in drug research.

It was reported that some people who took Hoodia have noticed their appetites reduced within 20 to 30 minutes, and probably lasted for several hours. Their craving for food has diminished, they feel full and experience delays in the onset of hunger. People also have reported an increased sense of wellbeing. In some users, it may take up to 2 to 3 weeks for Hoodia to achieve the desired maximum effect. Hoodia has not been reported to make users feel jittery or anxious, so it is not a stimulant. In fact, there are very few side effects reported with the use of Hoodia.

These days, hoodia is often marketed and sold in the form of capsules, powder, and trans-dermal patches, and has been added to the formula of several already-established weight loss supplement brands. Hoodia gordonii provides great promise for controlling caloric intake - a key factor in the control of body weight.

While obesity reaches epidemic proportions, the afflicted become increasingly desperate to find new ways to control their body weight. You'll eat less, gain a feeling of fullness, feel less hungry, and have a better chance of losing weight; hoodia can even fight obesity if used properly. Hoodia can also help in elevating your mood and increase your energy level.

The benefits of Hoodia are a major example of how the traditional use of folk remedies of natural origin can form a basis for research that may often result in scientific breakthroughs. Most treatment methods have involved the proprietary interests of big business.

Hoodia gordonii will become a dietary supplement of major interest internationally, as there is increasing public knowledge of its apparently miraculous effects on appetite control. Nature is not easily fooled, even though Hoodia gordonii seems to trick the body by giving a sense of satiety or fullness.

Weight Loss Tips - How to Set Effective Weight Loss Goals

A word of caution: your weight loss plan is probably doomed.

As you probably remember, you just got over the holiday season. You spent a week stuffing your face with everything, from chocolates to cookies, like there's no tomorrow. And the result? You're afraid to step on the scale or look at yourself in the mirror because your weight has soared.

It's probably about then that you decided that you need to start losing weight. But even if you were to put yourself on a starvation diet and spent 6 hours a day on the treadmill, you would probably still not lose weight as effectively as you could with this simple mental exercise - goal-setting!

How do you set goals? Before we go any further, I want to set something straight - goals that you set should be SMART! SMART is a business acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-Bound. In essence, when you set a weight loss goal, it should be:

  • Specific - for example, "I will lose weight by exercising 5 times a week and eating no more than 2,000 calories a day"
  • Measurable - for example, "I will lose 20 pounds"
  • Attainable - your goal needs to push you slightly beyond the limit of your capabilities, but not so far as to make it impossible to achieve. For example, losing 20 pounds when you weight 300 is achievable; losing 200 pounds is not (or not yet, at least)
  • Realistic - in this case, it means that you have the resources and the knowledge to accomplish the goal. For example, exercising 3 times a day if you will be travelling every day for the next two weeks is not realistic
  • Time-Bound - for example, "I will meet my weight loss goal by the end of March 2008"

Here's what this is all about - effective, SMART goals will keep you motivated and stop you from giving up on your weight loss process. You will be able to keep track of your progress and stop yourself from deviating from your plan of action. But here's the real kicker - SMART goal setting takes very little time but increases your likelihood of meeting your diet objectives by a whooping 84%.

As you can see, goal-setting is an extremely powerful - and often overlooked - component of any weight loss effort. But here's something else to keep in mind - goal-setting will also allow you to improve your weight loss effort by being able to tell exactly what works and what doesn't. For example, if you set a goal and it is clear that you are not meeting it in time, you will notice it much earlier and hopefully identify a way to improve the weight loss process.

Fastest Weight Loss Method

Would you believe me if I said the fastest weight loss method available actually involves eating more food? Of course you wouldn't, but amazingly this isn't a joke or a scam. So what is this diet that sounds too good to be true.

The diet in question is called calorie shifting and yes it really does work by eating more. Calorie shifting works by increasing your metabolism to work at a higher rate which brings on faster weight loss.

It does this by mixing up the foods you eat and the calories you in take each day. This stops the body from figuring out any sort of routine and sensing you are on a diet. Thanks to the confusion it causes your body will actually burn calories faster.

You eat 4 meals a day on the program and the only thing you really need to make sure of is that each of the meals consist of different calorie amounts and you will soon see results. A menu generator can also be attained for those that want an extra level of help with an eating plan.

By eating 4 meals a day or more if you like you will keep the metabolism working constantly throughout the day meaning calories are being burned all day. This is why eating more really can help you to lose weight.

Calorie shifting diet users tend to report losses of between 8 to 15 pounds in the first 2 week and since the diet works on a continuous cycle the results will keep coming for as long as you use the diet.

You can get more information about the calorie shifting diet if you visit here.

What Weight Loss Fitness Program Should You Use?

So you're looking for a high quality weight loss fitness program? There are so many out there which one is best for you? This article is designed to point you in the right direction and to shed a little light on how best to achieve your weight loss goals.

An excellent way of slimming is to use exercise programs and fitness plans as a way to help you not only lose weight and burn fat, but to improve fitness and boost your energy levels. Improved fitness levels and lower body fat will also help reduce the chances of overweight related illnesses such as heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Exercise has also been shown to help your brain to function properly so incorporating a quality weight loss fitness program will not only benefit your physical health, it will also improve your mental health! Exercising for weight loss doesn't have to be hard, just consistent. So long as you stay committed to a program you will constantly improve your fitness and drop those excess pounds.

It is also of vital importance to incorporate quality nutrition along with any new weight loss fitness program - this will help you achieve any weight loss goals you have quicker and enable you to keep the fat off permanently. Your body uses food for energy and any excess energy is stored as fat. This means should you eat more food than your body needs for daily activities and cell maintenance, you will gain weight. In order to lose weight, you must get your body to use up these stores of fat. The most effective way to do this is to simply increase your levels of daily activity whilst reducing the amount of calories you eat. This is why experts talk about weight loss in terms of diet and exercise.

Recent studies have shown that the optimal way to lose fat is to increase your metabolism so you burn stored fat even whilst resting, a high intensity weight loss fitness program can help with this. The fundamental principles of High Intensity Training (HIT) are that any exercise should be brief, infrequent, and intense. Each exercise should be performed with a high level of effort so that it will stimulate the body to produce an increase in muscular strength and size whilst simultaneously losing fat. It promotes quicker increases in fitness levels since all your muscle fiber types are stimulated in the process.

Strength training should also be incorporated into any weight loss fitness program. Every pound of muscle burns approximately 35 calories per day so it is of vital importance to at least maintain your muscle mass. Adding muscle will raise your resting metabolic rate and will greatly increase the chance that the weight loss (more accurately fat loss) will be maintained. This resting metabolic rate accounts for 60 to 75 percent of your daily calorie expenditure, so even a modest increase will help burn off more fat.

A great weight loss fitness program will incorporate both high intensity and strength training, remember an increase in muscle tissue is a good thing - it helps your body to lose fat all day by increasing your metabolism, reducing the chance of injury and making everything you do easier!

Healthy Weight Loss - The Way Weight Loss Should Be Achieved

Magic diets do not exist. Crash diets or bursts of exercise are not the healthiest way to lose weight. For a successful, healthy weight loss, just follow basic mindful eating and smart nutrition suggestions. The body likes slow changes in terms of food and exercise. If you set sensible goals for yourself, you are more likely to meet them.

Your weight is the result of several factors like how much you eat and what you eat, your age and health, your genetic and psychological makeup etc. All of these factors should be addressed for a successful weight management.

There are many health benefits of weight loss. Losing excess weight considerably reduces the risk of developing diseases like diabetes and heart problems. Keeping your weight in the healthy range now, means you are less likely to be troubled by illnesses in later.

Make your lifestyle healthy. Here are a few tips:

Start with a realistic goal, which is easier to keep.

Think of weight loss in terms of permanently changing your eating habits.

Always stock the house with healthy foods. Keep the fatty foods and sweets to a minimum and fill the fridge with fruits and vegetables.

Avoid second helpings, especially at dinner. Fill up with soups, salads, raw vegetables and fruits instead.

Drink lots of water instead of high calorie soft drinks.

Minimize the use of sugar in tea and coffee.

Use skimmed milk instead of whole milk.

Avoid eating processed food

Do not snack on sweets, fries etc in between meals.

Never skip breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day. Eat lesser portions at lunch.

Avoid beer and alcohol.

Don't burst into a frenzy of exercise. Those who haven't walked for years should not tread miles on a treadmill or do a 100 push ups right at the start. Its more likely to cause you injury apart from leaving you tired and disheartened.

Start slowly. Set a realistic goal like walking 30 minutes a day and slowly increase the distance and time as and when your body gets used to it.

Consult your doctor before you start your exercise regime.

All these things will influence your physical and psychological health positively.

What you should not do while on a diet is to starve yourself. It may help you shed some weight, but chances are you will regain that weight as soon as you start eating again. Your body does not get enough nutrients. It can cause numerous negative health effects like gallstones, fainting, malnutrition etc. Also, rapid loss of weight usually means you're losing muscle and water rather than fat.

There are a lot of quick fix diets and supplements promising you a stick thin body. Diet supplements do not really help lose weight if it is not accompanied by healthy eating habits and exercise. The bottom line is that you need to burn more calories than you consume.

What Is The Current Weight Loss Miracle?

More than half of the American population is overweight and the problem seems to be getting worse every year. Obesity is even trickling down to our kids; there are more children who are overweight than ever before. Most of us know that in order for us to lose weight we have to reduce the number of calories we take in and/ or increase the number of calories we burn off. Our bodies will use food we consume as energy, but the food that isn't used is stored as fat. The good news is Omegga-3 fatty acids can help us burn off those calories before they get a chance to sit around in storage as an end result we will end up carrying less excess weight.

If you increased the amount of omega- 3's in your diet and decreased your intake of pro-inflammatory high-glycemic carbohydrates (starches and sugars) and also saturated fats (found in meats, fried foods etc.) Then as a result, unwanted weight would eventually start to fall off. Not to mention other benefits like nourishing the skin, hair, nerves, glands and help to possibly prevent cardiovascular disease. Moreover, these essential fatty acids encourage the body to burn the excess fat as heat and to promote insulin sensitivity. The combination of burning the fat as heat and increasing insulin sensitivity helps to reduce the risk of obesity and diabetes.

When the food we eat is consumed there is one of two pathways the food takes in our bodies. The first one is food calories can be burned inside our cells in the mitochondria to produce ATP, which is used to store and release energy for work within the body. Another name for this process is called Oxidative Phosphorylation. The food can also be stored as body fat or stored as glycogen in the liver and muscles. The goal would be to uncouple the oxidation from the phosphorylation. Then the food calories can be burned off by thermogenesis. If the majority of food that we eat could be burned up as heat then more of us would stay slim and lean. Omega 3's can actually uncouple the oxidation from the phosphorylation and also increase insulin sensitivity. Insulin receptors are found in our cell's plasma membrane. Essential fatty acids helps keep this critical and fragile portion of our cell flexible, thereby keeping these receptors intact. If you want even more information on diabetes, an insulin then go to the website located in the resource box below.

Fast Weight Loss Tips

Here in this article are a few fast weight loss tips which should help you get on the right path to losing weight successfully.

First up don't starve yourself. It may seem logical that if you eat as little as possible you will achieve fast weight loss but this isn't really the case, and nor is it safe.

It may result in initial quick weight loss but this will soon stop. The reason for this is that your body will sense it is being starved and so will slow your metabolism down to reserve more energy.

It will also inform your metabolism to burn muscle rather than fat which will increase your appetite to almost unbearable levels and thus causing an end to your diet. Once you go back to a regular eating routine you will find you gain weight quicker as your metabolism will still be working at a lower rate.

One piece of advice that is often ignored is to drink plenty of water. Water makes us feel more energetic and less sleepy but it also makes us feel fuller which is also a great benefit as it goes towards preventing you from snacking between meals.

Speeding up your metabolism is a great way of increasing the rate at which you lose weight. There is no need for pills though as there are several natural steps you can take to increase this.

They include eating more meals a day, keeping active, and making sure you eat breakfast ( this wakes your metabolism up for the day). You can find a few more tips on increasing your metabolism by reading Metabolism Boosters- Natural Ways To Boost Metabolism.

Many diets advise you to cut out certain food types such as protein or carbohydrates but this is something I would try to avoid. Every food group contains something which our body needs so by leaving out a certain food group our body will miss out on the benefits they provide.

A diet based around shifting calories not only has fast results but also doesn't require you to miss out on any food groups.

Thank you for reading these fast weight loss tips, now all you have to do is put them into practice.

Want To Lose Weight Fast? 7 Myths You Must Know About Losing Weight

Millions of people are looking to lose weight and reshape their bodys. Just do a quick search on the internet for "weight loss" and you will come up with millions of results.

There are so many people offering advice and weight loss tips that it's no surprise that many of the information out there isn't correct. That's why this article was put together - to expose a few of the myths about losing weight.

1) You shouldn't eat carbs if you are trying to lose weight

The Atkins diet was a huge diet craze that has made many people scared of carbs. However, cutting carbs isn't the "secret" to losing weight. What you need to do is cut down calories - plain and simple. If you burn more calories than you take in, you lose weight.

It's a good idea to cut back on refined carbohydrates, but eating bread, rice or pasta can be part of a healthy diet - just watch your calories!

2) Your weight is determined by genetics

Some people just assume that if their parents are fat, they will be too. Although your family history may have an impact on your biological makeup and how your metabolism functions, you are not "destined" to be overweight simply because your parents were.

Anyone can lose weight and get the "perfect" figure by eating a healthy diet and exercising. Don't use your family tree as an excuse. In fact, try to use it as motivation as what you don't want to become.

3) All weight loss pills and supplements are a scam

The weight loss industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. There are literally thousands of different products out there that all promise to burn fat and make the pounds melt off your body. Unfortunately a great deal of these products aren't worth a dime.

However, there are weight loss supplements that will give you a huge boost towards your goals. The best ones will use natural ingredients to jump-start your body and give you results faster than possible before.

4) You have to cut out all fat

There is actually such a thing as "healthy" fats. Saturated fats and trans fat aren't good for you, but there are fats that help your body absorb nutrients and make you feel fuller. This can be a huge help when trying to lose weight.

Fats found in things such as fish, olive oil and nuts are great for you and should be part of your diet. There's the real "skinny" on fat ;)

5) Skipping meals is a good idea

Skipping meals can actually go against you if you are trying to lose weight. By skipping a meal, your metabolism slows down. You are also more likely to binge eat later on in the day as your body feels hungrier due to starvation.

Don't skip meals - rather, try to cut out some calories in each meal that you eat.

6) Changing your diet is the only way to change your metabolism

Actually, exercise is the best way to speed up your metabolism. Not only will you burn calories while you are working out, but your body continues to burn calories faster afterwards.

And remember to make sure you are getting enough food for your body to get the most out of exercise. You don't want to starve yourself - your body needs the energy. This isn't an excuse to scarf down huge meals before exercising, but make sure you give your body the fuel it needs.

7) Picking low-fat or fat-free foods is a surefire way to lose weight

Remember that the amount of fat you eat isn't the key in losing weight. It's calories that play the biggest role.

Many fat-free foods have the same amount of calories as their regular counterparts. It's a great idea to consider the "fat-free" versions, just make sure to compare the nutritional labels and pay the most attention to the calories section.

If you have made the decision to lose weight - congratulations! Not only will you look better, but you will feel like a million bucks. It's a great feeling improving your appearance and your overall health at the same time.

All the best!

How To Lose Weight Fast And Effortlessly

There a significant number of strategies and approaches being taught about how to lose weight and many of them do work to some extent. The problem with most weight loss strategies is that the people that use them and see results tend to end up gaining the weight back after a few months or so of losing it and sometimes they gain back more than they lose.

Losing weight really comes down to 2 things and that is diet and exercise. However there is a third element that is critical. This third element is your commitment level. The fact is that most people know how to lose weight but they simply do not follow through. It is their lack of commitment that causes them to fail rather than their lack of knowledge. Thus you must first build an unwavering commitment level to losing weight before you start any diet or exercise program.

There are many approaches you can use to build your commitment level. Many people that lose weight and stay at a healthy weight have trained themselves to simply hate being overweight and love being at a healthy weight. Think about the negative consequences that being overweight is bringing into your life right now. Think about all the pain and suffering you are going through just because you have some extra weight.

Think about all the humiliation and the lack of self esteem and confidence that not being fit and healthy has brought into your life. You need to get sick and tired of your current health and fitness level otherwise you will never change. Also focus on the pleasure that having a powerful healthy body will bring into your life. Maybe you will now have more confidence to approach that special someone that you have always wanted to build a relationship with.

Focus on the pleasure of being fit and healthy and focus on the pain that being overweight and unhealthy is having on your life. Exercise is composed of two parts and that is weight training and aerobics. Both are important. Weight training will build that all important muscle mass that turns your body into a fat burning machine since muscle burns calories all the time. Simply join a gym or buy a good piece of weight training equipment and do a variety of exercises roughly once a week or even once every two weeks.

It is important to not weight train too much so the more weight you lift the more rest you will need to recover. Do aerobics 3 to 5 times a week however with aerobics the key is simply to move consistently for 30 to 60 minutes. If you work a job where you are always on your feet then you may not even need to do any aerobics at all since your job gives you the aerobic benefits you need. Base the amount of aerobic exercise you do based on your current lifestyle. Follow some of these weight loss tips to help you become thin and healthy.
